Introduction

Roelofs®Metaal Nederland BV (hereinafter referred to as “Roelofs”) takes the protection of personal data seriously. We have safeguarded your data in accordance with privacy legislation, known as the GDPR.
The following overview explains the rules we follow and the measures we take to protect and safeguard your data.

For customers and suppliers

As a customer or supplier, your data is stored and retained in a data file created for you. We may use this data for enquiries, quotations, order confirmations, packing lists and other communications arising from purchases and/or sales.
We also reserve the right to use your data for mailings about our products, services and other matters that may be of interest to you.
We assume that, as a customer or supplier, you are interested in our company.
You may unsubscribe so that you no longer receive these mailings automatically.
It is not always possible to delete your customer or supplier record immediately. Statutory data retention periods apply, which Roelofs must observe.

Information for people who are not customers or suppliers

If you contact us for information or an enquiry as someone who is not a customer or supplier, whether through our website, by email, phone or post, during a visit or trade fair, or in any other way, we may use your company and/or personal data to handle your enquiry properly.
This data may be included in our database.

If you do not wish this, please contact us and we will delete your data.

Data protection

Your data is stored centrally and has additional protection against misuse, unauthorised disclosure and theft.
Roelofs primarily uses your data internally.
We only use your data externally where we consider it necessary to optimise our business operations, for example by sharing it with a freight forwarder in connection with an upcoming delivery.
Roelofs checks that these third parties also comply with privacy legislation. They may not pass on the data and are bound by confidentiality. We do not sell your data.

Keeping data up to date and retention periods

Roelofs makes every effort to keep your data up to date. Please let us know if your details
have changed, and we will update your record immediately.
Subject to the statutory retention period, you may request deletion of your data. Under EU privacy legislation 2016/679 of 4 May 2016, applicable from 25 May 2018, you have the right at any time to access your data, correct errors or have your data deleted from our records.
